August has many meanings to many different people around the world. For example, in Norse mythology, Baldr is associated with light, wisdom, and courage. Although he is never explicitly defined as the god of any of these. He is best known for his dramatic death, which heralds the coming of Ragnarök, the end of the age of the Norse gods and the world’s rebirth.

I find this ironic as many things past and present collide and have birthed something new and exciting.

With new projects – Soil remediation at Northey Street City Farm, Community gardens and education at the University of Queensland, and designing new spaces for individual clients and the community, it is a rebirth.

With Spring just around the corner, it is time to prepare at home too. New bioponic units are going in, bees are returning, chickens are joining the crew, and two tiny grow houses are going up to help support the growth of the rental and the more significant projects; it is going to be a big month but worth it as this place springs into life.

While 2022 is proving to be a year of challenges, though I love the space with renewed vigour.
